Based on the popular rhyme of the same name, this special adaptation can be used in several ways to allow early learners to gain confidence in reading.
Grown-up helpers can start by saying the illustrated words shown at the side of each left-hand page. Key words on the right-hand page have already been introduced on the left-hand page, so readers can have fun trying to spot the same words in the story itself. All the pictured words are recapped in a dictionary at the back of the book.
• It’s fun to start reading with this great big book based on a well-loved theme – ideal for show-and-tell!
• Join Tim,Tessa and Eddy the teddy bears on their picnic– none of them has very much food to take, but by sharing and working together, they have plenty
• Introduces words such as basket, bee, butterfly, road, field, grass and gate
• Large-format pages, simple repeated language and appealing characters make this book perfect for helping with every child’s first steps in reading
