About the Author
Nuno Lopes received his Bachelor degree (5 years degree) in Systems and Informatics Engineering, in 2002, from University of Minho, Braga, Portugal. During this course, he made an internship at Philips Research, Eindhoven, The Netherlands. Later on he received his Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, from University of Minho, Portugal, in 2009. His Ph.D. focused on the building of large-scale indexing systems through the use of structured peer-to-peer networks. He is currently an Assistant Professor at the Instituto Politécnico do Cávado e do Ave, Barcelos, Portugal, teaching Network Communications and Operating Systems courses, among others. His research interests include distributed systems, decentralized algorithms, peer-to-peer networks, and large-scale information retrieval.
Joaquim G. Pereira Silva is currently an Adjunct Professor in the School of Technology at the Polytechnic Institute of Cávado and Ave, Portugal. He holds a Dipl. Eng. in the field of Systems and Informatics Engineering and an MSc degree in the field of Industrial Engineering. Currently, He is conducting research studies for completing a PhD degree in the field of Computer Science. He teaches subjects related with Information Systems, Software Engineering and Decision Support Systems to undergraduate and post-graduate studies. He worked for about 10 years as an information systems manager in industry before initiating the academic career. His research work covers the areas of information systems, business analytics, and business process management.
Goran D. Putnik , Dr. Habil., DrSc., Full Professor, Department of Production and Systems Engineering, University of Minho, Portugal. His scientific and engineering interests are distributed, agile and virtual production systems and enterprises design and management theory, ICT in manufacturing, concurrent and collaborative engineering, formal theory of production systems and enterprises, and complexity management in organizations. His publishing record comprises more than 300 publications in international and national journals and conferences, including 13 books, of which the “Encyclopedia of Networked and Virtual Organizations” is distinguished. He serves as a member of Editorial Board for several International Journals. He is an associate member of the International Academy for Production Engineering CIRP.
Maria Manuela Cruz-Cunha is currently an Associate Professor with the School of Technology at the Polytechnic Institute of Cavado and Ave, Portugal. She holds a Dipl. Eng. (5 years) in the field of systems and informatics engineering, an M.Sci. in the field of Computer Integrated Manufacturing and a Dr.Sci in of Production Systems Engineering. She teaches subjects related with Information Systems, Information Technologies and Organizational Models to undergraduate and post-graduate studies. She has authored and edited 25 books and her work appears in more than 150 papers published in journals, book chapters and conference proceedings. She is founder and conference chair of the "CENTERIS – Conference on ENTERprise Information Systems", "ViNOrg – Conference on Virtual and Networked Organizations Emergent Technologies and Tools" and "SeGAH – Serious Games and Applications for Health". She is the editor-in-chief of the "International Journal of Web Portals" and of "Information and Communication Technologies for the Advanced Enterprise: an international journal".

Right of withdrawal
If you are a consumer you can withdraw from the contract in accordance with the following. Consumer means any natural person who is acting for purposes which are outside his trade, business, craft or profession.

Statutory right to withdraw
You have the right to withdraw from this contract within 14 days without giving any reason.
The withdrawal period will expire after 14 days from the day on which you acquire, or a third party other than the carrier and indicated by you acquires, physical possession of the last good or the last lot or piece.
To exercise the right of withdrawal, electronically fill in and submit a clear statement on our website, under "My Purchases" in "My Account". We will communicate to you an acknowledgement of receipt of such a withdrawal on a durable medium (e.g. by e-mail) without delay.
To meet the withdrawal deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your communication concerning your exercise of the right of withdrawal before the withdrawal period has expired.
Effects of withdrawal
If you withdraw from this contract, we will reimburse to you all payments received from you, including the costs of delivery (except for the supplementary costs arising if you chose a type of delivery other than the least expensive type of standard delivery offered by us).
We may make a deduction from the reimbursement for loss in value of any goods supplied, if the loss is the result of unnecessary handling by you.
We will make the reimbursement without undue delay, and not later than 14 days after the day on which we are informed about your decision to withdraw from this contract.
We will make the reimbursement using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction, unless you have expressly agreed otherwise; in any event, you will not incur any fees as a result of such reimbursement.
We may withhold reimbursement until we have received the goods back, or you have supplied evidence of having sent back the goods, whichever is the earliest.
You shall send back the goods or hand them over to GreatBookPricesUK, Castle Donington, Derby, United Kingdom, without undue delay and in any event not later than 14 days from the day on which you communicate your withdrawal from this contract to us. The deadline is met if you send back the goods before the period of 14 days has expired. You will have to bear the direct cost of returning the goods. You are only liable for any diminished value of the goods resulting from the handling other than what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the goods.
Exceptions to the right of withdrawal
The right of withdrawal does not apply to:
- The delivery of newspapers, journals or magazines with the exception of subscription contracts; and
- The supply of digital content which is not supplied on a tangible medium (e.g. on a CD or DVD) if you accepted when you placed your order that we could start to deliver it, and that you could not withdraw once delivery had started.
