About the Author
Christie Henderson, CA, CFP, TEP is a partner with Henderson Partners LLP, specializing in tax and financial planning. Christie qualified for the Chartered Accountant designation with Ernst & Young, Toronto. Christie is a Certified Financial Planner, a Trust and Estate Practitioner, and has completed the CICA’s in–depth Tax Course, the Canadian Securities Course, and the Canadian Investment Funds Course. Christie’s clientele consists largely of entrepreneurial owner–managers, executives, and their families. She provides comprehensive financial planning, including retirement planning, investment planning, insurance needs, estate planning, stock option planning, and business succession planning. Christie makes appearances on various Canadian radio and television programs and contributes articles to business publications. Christie would like to thank her husband, Kirk, and their two young sons, Charlie and Finlay, for being just plain wonderful!
Brian Quinlan, CA, CFP, TEP is a partner with Campbell Lawless Professional Corporation in Toronto. He works with individuals and owner–managed businesses to maximize cash by minimizing tax. Brian serves as a contributing editor at Canadian MoneySaver Magazine; he has been a guest on a number of TV and radio call–in shows and is a frequent speaker at tax and financial planning seminars. He has instructed tax courses for Ryerson University and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario. Brian has two income–splitting vehicles: Tara, 12, and Andrew, 15.
Suzanne Schultz, CA, CFP is Associate Vice President of the Tax and Estate Planning Group at AIC Limited, where she provides tax education and advisory services to financial advisers and their clients. Suzanne enjoys teaching others and can often be found speaking at seminars and courses around the country and giving insight on tax through media appearances. Suzanne is a graduate of Dalhousie University, has completed the CICA’s in–depth tax course, and is a member of the Canadian Tax Foundation. Aside from her career, Suzanne enjoys a busy family life with her husband, Kevin, sons Carter, 5, and Ben, 2, and new daughter Claire.
Leigh Vyn, CA, CFP is an Associate Vice President of AIC Tax Smart Services, where she plays an essential role in providing financial advisers across Canada with a broad range of tax and estate planning services. She has written articles for CI mutual funds and The Globe and Mail’s Report on Business. She has also co–authored courses on trusts and corporate tax for CCH Canadian Limited. Leigh has become a frequently requested speaker, and has made numerous television appearances. Leigh received her Honours Bachelor of Commerce at McMaster University, in Hamilton, Ontario. She began her accounting career at KPMG and then went on to obtain her CA designation.
Leigh has also completed the CICA’s in–depth tax course, and is a member of the Canadian Tax Foundation. Leigh enjoys spending time with her husband, Dave, daughter, Abby, and son, Joshua.

Statutory right to withdraw
You have the right to withdraw from this contract within 14 days without giving any reason.
The withdrawal period will expire after 14 days from the day on which you acquire, or a third party other than the carrier and indicated by you acquires, physical possession of the last good or the last lot or piece.
To exercise the right of withdrawal, electronically fill in and submit a clear statement on our website, under "My Purchases" in "My Account". We will communicate to you an acknowledgement of receipt of such a withdrawal on a durable medium (e.g. by e-mail) without delay.
To meet the withdrawal deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your communication concerning your exercise of the right of withdrawal before the withdrawal period has expired.
Effects of withdrawal
If you withdraw from this contract, we will reimburse to you all payments received from you, including the costs of delivery (except for the supplementary costs arising if you chose a type of delivery other than the least expensive type of standard delivery offered by us).
We may make a deduction from the reimbursement for loss in value of any goods supplied, if the loss is the result of unnecessary handling by you.
We will make the reimbursement without undue delay, and not later than 14 days after the day on which we are informed about your decision to withdraw from this contract.
We will make the reimbursement using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction, unless you have expressly agreed otherwise; in any event, you will not incur any fees as a result of such reimbursement.
We may withhold reimbursement until we have received the goods back, or you have supplied evidence of having sent back the goods, whichever is the earliest.
You shall send back the goods or hand them over to World of Books (was SecondSale), Montgomery, Illinois, U.S.A., without undue delay and in any event not later than 14 days from the day on which you communicate your withdrawal from this contract to us. The deadline is met if you send back the goods before the period of 14 days has expired. You will have to bear the direct cost of returning the goods. You are only liable for any diminished value of the goods resulting from the handling other than what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the goods.
Exceptions to the right of withdrawal
The right of withdrawal does not apply to:
- The delivery of newspapers, journals or magazines with the exception of subscription contracts; and
- The supply of digital content which is not supplied on a tangible medium (e.g. on a CD or DVD) if you accepted when you placed your order that we could start to deliver it, and that you could not withdraw once delivery had started.

Shipping costs are based on books weighing 2.2 LB, or 1 KG. If your book order is heavy or oversized, we may contact you to let you know extra shipping is required.
