About the Author: Dan Turner is Professor of Paediatrics at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Professor Turner has been Head of the Juliet Keidan Institute of Paediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition at the Shaare Zedek Medical Center, Jerusalem, since 2008, and is Director of the Paediatric Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) Center and its research unit, leading more than 30 concurrent studies in PIBD. He has co-chaired the European Crohn’s Colitis Organization (ECCO) and European Society for Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition (ESPGHAN) guidelines for the treatment of children with IBD and is an author of >200 manuscripts in the field. Professor Turner is currently Vice-President of the international PIBD network, and an elected member of the International Organization of Inflammatory Bowel Diseases (IOIBD). He is the past chair of the Paediatric IBD Porto Working Group of ESPGHAN, and the Paediatric committee of ECCO.
