Good condition, missing dust jacket. First Grosset & Dunlap reprint bound in red cloth with black lettering on the front and spine. Spine is a little faded and bumped at ends; corners are bumped. Prior owner's name in pencil on front paste down. Frontispiece, title page, and numerous interior black-and-white illustrations are by J Allen St John. Dedication page is present. Pages are clean and unmarked, pages aging. Grosset and Dunlap hardcover, missing dust jacket, 1927 edition, printing not stated. The only date in the book is the 1917 copyright date, which some take to be the publication date. 394 pages, illustrated by J. Allen St. John. 12mo (5" x 7.5") First published by A C McClurg & Co in 1917, then by A L Burt Company in 1918.
