Item description from seller

324 pages. An early M&S reprint of this novel first published in 1931. This copy issued in 1935 or early '36 as rear panel lists Mistress Pat [1935] but not Ann of Windy Poplars [1936] or any subsequent LMM title. 8 titles are listed on verso of half-title. This differs from the first issue in having black titles and no topstain. Jacket rear flap and rear panel are different, this panel listing eleven titles. [See Lechowick 101f.] Three small holes to upper fore-edge of jacket. Light staining to lower fore-edge of jacket and to front panel above and beside the W of Web. Jacket spine considerably sunned such that the starburst beams that wrapped around are obliterated. Very thin strip of sunning to spine boards at head and foot. Light unobtrusive dampstain to upper and lower outer corners of leaves up to p. 40 (page edges, not on face of page). Former owner's signature to front endpaper dated 1939. A presentable copy of this issue in uncommon jacket.

Store description

Since 1977 The Odd Book has bought and sold interesting books and ephemera... and some apparently not that interesting. We're a member of the Antiquarian Booksellers' Association of Canada, and thereby affiliated with the International League of Antiquarian Booksellers. At the store in Wolfville, Nova Scotia, and online since '98, Jim Tillotson (founder) and Jim Gow (proprietor) combine their years of experience and occasional stupidity to provide a pretty good place to browse. Thanks for stopping by, and don't hesitate to be in touch.…
