With a career record of 508-159, she has led Texas Tech to 16 NCAA Tournament appearances, was a Naismith Coach of the Year finalist numerous times, was honored as Big 12 Coach of the Year twice, was selected as SWC Coach of the Year 5 times, and was named National Coach of the Year in 1993 by the Women's Basketball News Service and the Columbus, Ohio, Touchdown Club. Sharp was inducted to the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame in May 2003. About the Author: Marsha Sharp was born in Washington and grew up in the small West Texas town of Tulia. She now resides in Lubbock.
