I am pleased to offer another vintage specialty book about farming and rural life from the Orange Judd Company. Please find: Talks on Manures A Series of Familiar and Practical Talks between the Author and the Deacon, the Doctor, and Other Neighbors, on the Whole Subject of Manures and Fertilizers by Joseph Harris. This small hardcover book (5 ? x 7 ? inches, 356 pages plus 4 pages of Publisher s adverts) was published by the Orange Judd Company of New York dated 1878, with no mention of edition. The book is bound in brown blind-stamped cloth with decorative gilt images on the cover and gilt titles on the spine. Please see the photos of the Table of Contents for your further information. I was hopeful for some illustrations but despite the nice images on the cover alas there are none. The book is furnished with a large number of Tables of data related to the topic. Condition: This book is in very good condition. The hardcovers are a bit scuffed and bumped with some smudges of light soiling but overall simple and attractive. Inside the book is unmarked and the pages are bright and generally clean throughout without incidents of toning or foxing. There are some tide lines in the upper corner of the later pages which are barely visible and do not affect the text. Both hinges are starting but just barely and the binding is tight and sound.…
