The Tale of Piper: the spider who built bridges
This is a story of musketeer friendships, clever solutions, and a little bit of magic—or maybe, a lot of magic—a world where impossible things are made possible with heart and courage. It’s a tale full of synchronicity, good deeds done, and moments that will tug at your heart. There are close calls, laughter and tears, with just enough cliffhangers to keep you turning the pages. Written in the style of a tale of yore—or perhaps, something that simply feels timeless…And in the end, two little doors are left open—just enough to keep you wondering, with a touch of humor for mom, dad and the grandparents. This is a book to read aloud to little ones, and later, for them to read to themselves. It’s filled with characters to cherish, to cheer for, and maybe even to fall in love with. Truly a tale for all ages.
Our Cast of Characters:
• Piper: (known as Pip to his friends, and Piper to the grown-ups): A young spider with a curious talent—he can’t weave an ordinary web, but he can create just about anything else. AND... he discovers he can spin gold, which turns out to be both a gift and a destiny.
• Sputter: A near-sighted bee who can’t quite nail a landing but buzzes with good intentions.
• Slugger: A snail with a tough shell and an even tougher attitude.
• Blink: A socially awkward younger firefly who struggles to find the right words—or the right flash.
• Willoughby: An astute and wise turtle with a knack for mentoring those who need it most. First Piper, and later, all his friends.
• Rufus: A hardworking ant and chairman of the prestigious Garden Ant Association.
• Miranda: The kind and generous old woman who tends the farm and its gardens, where some of the magic finds a home.
• Crumpet: Miranda’s prized cow, with a personality as big as her spots.
• Whinny: A gentle Shire mare, full of grace and quiet strength.
• Rags: A stray border collie who watches over the farm and all its inhabitants with loyalty and a bit of mischief.
• Grimes: An Alpine goat prone to nervous chewing when things get tense.
• Donegal: Piper’s father, a legendary spinner and past member of the prestigious Order of Weavers and Spinners.
• Siaorse: Piper’s patient, loving mother.
• Tantallon: The imposing Grand Web Lord, whose presence looms over the tale.
