The Tale of Mr Leopard, Mr Jackal and The Lady Dragon - Book One is a beautifully written, atmospheric story that brings to life the timeless wisdom of the wild. Mr Leopard moves with quiet authority and regal strength, his presence a study in patience and power. Mr Jackal, by contrast, is restless, quick-witted and endlessly clever, always one sly remark ahead of trouble. Long regarded as rivals, these two must learn that survival in the vast savannah sometimes demands more than strength or cunning alone.
With vivid, lyrical prose that captures the golden light of dusk, the rustle of tall grass and the electric tension of a night filled with possibility, author Blessed Kearns weaves a tale rich in African storytelling tradition. As shadows lengthen and the scent of opportunity drifts on the breeze, an uneasy alliance begins to form - one that will test pride, stretch trust and open the door to something far greater.
Gentle, humorous and full of heart, this illustrated chapter book explores friendship across differences, the power of working together and the quiet courage it takes to see beyond old rivalries. Perfect for reading aloud at bedtime or for newly confident readers to enjoy alone, it celebrates the magic that happens when strength and wit combine and when even the most unlikely companions discover they have more in common than they ever imagined.
Ideal for children aged 6-11 (and the young at heart), The Tale of Mr Leopard, Mr Jackal and The Lady Dragon is a fresh, African-inspired animal adventure that feels both timeless and brand new. Warm, wise and wonderfully immersive, it is the perfect first step into a series that will linger in young imaginations long after the final page.
