Folding colour game sheet, 53 x 69cm, repaired tear along one fold, left margin trimmed probably to detach the players pieces which are not present. Still a good copy. This baseball game sheet was published as a supplement to the January 1931 issue of Kokumin Shinbun. Designed as a family entertainment for new year holiday, the game is played with 2 dice by 2 to 4 players on two sides, batter and defence. Movements of batter and defender are assigned for total number of 2 dice. For example, when a player gets 3, (1 and 2 with 2 dice), a batter advances to the second base as well as having another turn with the dice. A defence player is able to oust a batter with number 11. Baseball games were very popular in Japan, particularly among young boys around the 1930s.
