The exhibit æNorway at the Turn of the CenturyÆ in 1995 was one of the Norwegian National GalleryÆs major productions in recent years, and according to the museum itself, its most ambitious project ever. The museum aimed to show as broad a pattern as possible of both fine and applied art, and demonstrate the fin-de-siecle search for a new decorative style which would encompass all art forms irregardless of medium or function. The international parallels to this movement were of course Arts and Crafts in Britain and Jugend on the Continent. This massive catalog covers painting, scuplture, graphics, street signs, ceramics, silver and enamel, textile, book art, furniture and architecture. , Norwegian, Year1994, Illust. B/W469, Illust.
