Undated but c. 1925 . Book size - 15 x 9 cm., pp. 128 + 1 fold-out map (1 map missing), thin card covers. Book condition - Good plus ; contents clean, no inscriptions, no foxing, minor creasing at the top corner of pages, the map of Hong Kong is missing with small remnants remaining and exposing staples and corresonding losses in two places on the inner edge of the first page, staples showing some surface rust but the binding remains very secure, the map of Shanghai is in good condtion with no splits and just one small tear at the corner of a fold near the hinge ; pale thin card cover with figure of dragon on the front and photographic advert on the rear ; small loss at the top corner of the front, other corners a little creased and worn, covers' edges are good, back slightly dusty with light tanning around the edges, spine intact with slight loss at the head and tail, spine a bit tanned and with a few minor creases, front again slightly dusty but no marks and with the dragon figure and title all complete and clear. Please see photos for indications of condition and contents. A booklet containing sections ( with information on hotels, clubs, consulates, transport, places of interest, etc ) on Hong Kong , Canton, Macao, Shanghai, Soochow, Peking, Tientsin, together with a three page list of Pidgin-English, a short article on The Opium Question, a brief mention of the ;' Coolie Class' and numerous adverts. A booklet with some defects, but a scarce survivor portraying visitors' China of a hundred years ago. Seller Inventory # 2480
