Octavo, 9 1/2" tall, xxxi + 1054 + vi pages + plates (many foldouts), gilt titles, and regimental decorations on blue cloth. A good, generally clean, first edition hardcover overall with moderate shelf wear and rubbing at cloth edges and fore-corner tips, with a touch of fraying at the spine; hinges cracked but secure and internal binding tight; plates look to be in near fine condition with the one exception being a fold-out map which is torn at fold; paper light to moderately yellowed with a previous owner's nameplate on the front endpaper.
