Add to basketA scarce 1894 hardback printing of John Venn?s Symbolic Logic, a foundational work in the history of modern logical theory. Venn?s treatment of the algebra of logic and his development of diagrammatic reasoning?now universally known as Venn diagrams?make this one of the key texts linking nineteenth?century symbolic logic to the formal systems of the twentieth century.
This is an original Macmillan 1894 edition in its Victorian cloth binding. Surviving copies are uncommon, and most examples encountered today are heavily worn or ex?library due to long academic use. A solid, intact hardback from this period is genuinely scarce, and collectible copies of Venn?s works continue to be sought after by historians of mathematics, logic, and philosophy.
A significant and increasingly hard?to?find edition of a major work in the development of symbolic logic.
