Wouldn't every kid want a pet crow that sat on their head and scared their schoolmates? Syd, The Crow is a tantalizing children's book about a real crow who befriended a family in the mid-west in the 1970's. Based on a true story, Syd, The Crow reveals some little known facts about crows' secret ability to recognize human faces in a crowd. The story provides a glimpse into a Polish-American family's holiday celebrations, and life in a safe and trusting neighborhood that values personal honor. Syd, The Crow touches on the scientific notion of passing time, Indian folklore, opera drama, admiring magnificent trees, and cherishing special family members. The parchment pages make you believe the book was found in Grandma's attic. This remarkable bird adopted a family and provided an experience destined to be shared. Catch the wonder and read along to find yourself seeking an encounter with an intelligent crow.
