The Sword Polisher's Record began as a long-running monthly column published over more than a decade in leading martial arts magazines, including Kungfu and Black Belt. Written to counter the commercialization and misconceptions surrounding kung fu, these essays offer thoughtful insights into the philosophy, practice and enduring traditions of the Chinese martial arts.
Illustrated with more than 60 photographs and drawings, The Sword Polisher's Record: The Way of Kung-Fu brings together this acclaimed series in a single volume. Organized into eight interconnected sections, it explores the foundations of kung fu, its underlying theories and principles, the meaning behind traditional styles and forms, practical training methods, and the role of martial arts in modern life. Both philosophical and practical, this collection offers valuable perspectives for martial artists of every experience level.
