Paperback. Swift. A Collection of Critical Essays. Couple of slight marks to back cover. Rescuing Jonathan Swift from the disgust and near-hatredof earlier readers, twentieth century critics have rediscovered an outspokem commentator on the complex mystery of human nature. From the shadow of 'Swift the half-mad misanthrope' emerges the figure of a philosopher, artist, and satirist who rejects the characteristically modern view of man as perfectible through his own efforts. 176 pp. (We carry a wide selection of titles in The Arts, Theology, History, Politics, Social and Physical Sciences. academic and scholarly books and Modern First Editions ,and all types of Academic Literature.).
