Two motives were the primary cause for their expulsion from British territories, one of which was the practice of Roman Catholicism and the second was slave labor for the development of the colonies in America. The amazing truth that evolves from all the upheaval of lives being torn loose from their native lands and families is thousands of the displaced people come together in a territory known as South Louisiana out of which grew what is known as the Cajun culture. The main character of this fictional attempt to put all these souls together in one place is Frank Blizzarde. His father, Gerard Blizzarde was from Brittany in Northern France and his mother Rose was from County Ulster in Northern Ireland who met in Halifax, Nova Scotia and ultimately traveled to a plantation south of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Frank is that young man that all parents would like to have for a son.Frank's father becomes employed by a very wealthy plantation owner named, Fritz Becker whose wife is Ingrid Becker. Even though the Becker family has a son named Thomas, he is not the son his father admired after he came to know Frank. One of the other employees named, Roy McCraken is Gerard's assistant whose wife is Della. They have a daughter named, Susanna. The three children grow up with one another with the power of money being the reason Susanna chooses Thomas for a husband even though she had promised to marry Frank which causes their relationship to sever.Frank grew up learning the swamps of Louisiana under the tutelage of Sakmow Redmond, who is recognized as the leader of the, to become, Cajun nation. Sakmow becomes Frank's mentor in developing into one of the best swamp animal trappers. After Thomas and Susanna marry, Thomas disappears, and Frank is convicted of his murder and is sentenced to life in the penitentiary which is owned by Fritz Becker, Frank's worst enemy. It becomes a well know fact that Frank will be murdered by an inmate or a guard paid by Fritz Becker. Frank escapes from the penitentiary and vanishes into the swamplands of South Louisiana with a $50,000.00 bounty for his capture, dead or alive. From that time forward the writing is filled with suspense and intrigue that will keep the reader glued to the pages. This item is printed on demand.
