HUMANITY IS BEING HUNTED.
OUR PREDATOR LIES WITHIN.
SLAVELORDS N. Amer. Informal
fief-holding neo-nobility of the Rocky Mountain Freeholds, controlling the region’s slave trade, sex industry, and exports of minerals and rare earth metals mined from the Rocky Mountains. They skirt Bloc and Nevadan Commonwealth law by enslaving inhabitants of devastated or unclaimed American regions, rather than those of incorporated territories. (See ROCKY FREEHOLDS, THE)
—from Terminology of Post-Rift America, 3rd Ed. Y64, DE
So continues The Swallowed World—a bold new futurist saga. At the crossroads of innovation and collapse, genius and madness, humankind faces the ultimate trial to which all life must submit: TRANSFORMATION OR EXTINCTION. From literary to science fiction, horror to allegory, the apocalyptic to the mythic—this MULTI-VOLUME EPIC is a window into a truly alien future civilization, deep in worldbuilding, rich in character, breathtaking in scope.
Book Two of The Swallowed World saga picks up two years after the events of the original, far from the affairs of America’s drowned coasts. At the cold heart of the Outlands, deep in the barbaric kingdoms known as the Rocky Freeholds, a band of young slaves escapes captivity with the aid of a mysterious benefactress. Setting off a fortuitous chain of events that will decimate armies and bring empires to their knees. Altering the course of human history…and human nature itself.
