About the Author
Peerzada Danish received his PhD in structural engineering (civil engineering) from Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), Vellore, with research focused on self-compacting concrete incorporating mineral admixtures as supplementary materials. He is currently Postdoctoral Research Associate III at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru, working on the development of low-carbon alternative materials for dam construction and rehabilitation under projects supported by the Ministry of Jal Shakti (MoJS), Central Water Commission, Government of India, and the World Bank. He has authored more than 20 SCI and Scopus-indexed publications presented at international conferences, along with books and book chapters. Dr Danish previously served as Assistant Professor at several universities and institutes, teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses and supervising student research. His research interests include sustainable construction materials, alkali-activated binders, and durable infrastructure systems.
Anil Sagar Srinivasa is Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at NIT Calicut. He completed his PhD in civil engineering from NITK Surathkal. His research focuses on one-part geopolymer pastes and mortars, eco-friendly alkali-activated concrete, and sustainable construction materials. He applies response surface methods for optimization of geopolymer binders and studies the influence of solid activators on fly ash/slag-based systems. He has authored SCI and Scopus-indexed papers and presented at international conferences. He is guiding PhD, MTech, and BTech students in the areas of geopolymer composites, alkali-activated binders, and durable infrastructure systems.
Jasir Mushtaq is Saudi Aramco Approved Environmental Engineer with over six years of professional experience in environmental management across the Gulf region and India. He holds a PhD in civil and environmental engineering from the National Institute of Technology Srinagar, India. His expertise includes solid waste management, environmental monitoring, carbon footprint assessment, and sustainable infrastructure development. Dr Mushtaq has authored several international journal publications and book chapters focusing on climate change, waste management, and environmental sustainability. He is actively involved in implementing international environmental standards and promoting sustainable engineering practices.
Mohan Ganesh G. obtained his PhD in structural engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee, India. He is Professor with higher academic grade for the Department of Structural and Geotechnical Engineering at VIT, Vellore, India. He has more than 60 publications in the Scopus-indexed journals. His area of research interest lies in high-volume fly ash concrete, self-compacting concrete, fibre-reinforced concrete, green corrosion inhibitors, steel concrete composite structures, artificial neural network, and genetic algorithm.
A.S. Santhi is Professor with a higher academic grade in the School of Civil Engineering, VIT, Vellore. She holds a PhD in structural engineering from IIT Roorkee (2006). She has supervised 11 PhD theses, one MS student, and 76 MTech theses and has published more than 40 research papers in referred and peer-reviewed Scopus-indexed journals. Her research interest includes high-volume fly ash in concrete, utilizations of mineral admixtures in concrete, corrosion studies, and impact studies on concrete. She has successfully completed two R&D projects sponsored by DST, Government of India and NLC, Neyveli.
