Shape memory materials constitute a distinct category capable of recovering their original shape after deformation. This book covers fabrication methodologies including exploration of diverse shape recovery mechanisms across alloys, polymers, ceramics, and hybrid compositions. Furthermore, the focus extends to emerging applications and discussion of the relationship between shape actuation rates and associated properties including the training procedures post-synthesis.Key Features:Elaborates on the development of properties at high temperatures and hostile conditions.Details the emerging applications of shape memory materials, presenting a thorough overview of alloys and polymers.Provides evidence related to shape memory materials, covering aspects such as training, exact properties, mechanisms, and applications.Unveils a smart system developed based on shape memory materials, spanning from low to high operating temperatures.Communicates synthesis techniques by controlling the chemical composition toward the exact properties and their sustainability. This book is aimed at graduate students and researchers in materials and polymer engineering.…
