Are you looking for a great kids’ book to teach your child about the importance of kindness, acceptance, diversity, inclusion and friendship? Look no further. Super Coco is an animal adventure that does just that.
It is a wonderful combination of all the traits we teach our children to help them make the world a better place and why we should never judge someone before getting to know them.
Travel with Coco, an orphaned rooster, as he explores Aruba on an inspiring quest to make friends. His journey does not go as planned as he faces teasing, bullying, rejection and sadness, but he never loses faith or gives up hope.
He meets a physically challenged, bare-eyed pigeon in the Wish Rock Garden and they become the best of friends; sharing memories, fun, dreams and laughs that the other animals on the island can’t ignore. Did they make a mistake and not give Coco a chance because he was different?
Like many difficulties children face, through Super Coco’s persistence we learn to:
• Welcome new friendships because you can never have enough.
• Be more accepting of our differences.
• Never judge someone else before getting to know them better.
• Learn to respect each other and be kind.
• We all come in various shapes and sizes but all of us have the opportunity to be an amazing friend.
Each page has amazing illustrations that will take you back to Aruba if you have visited, or it will teach you about the islands’ most infamous locations and the native animals Coco meets as he keeps trying to find one who will be his best friend.
Based on a true story of an unlikely friendship between two diverse birds, this book is a perfect gift for any occasion. Super Coco will capture your child's imagination and curiosity. Parents have loved the positive message and your child will want to read it over and over again.
A portion of proceeds is donated to Aruban animal nonprofit organizations. It is also available in Dutch (Super Coco “Wil je mijn vriendje zijn?”) and in Spanish (Súper Coco ¿Quieres Ser Mi Amigo?).
Super Coco truly is an awesome, Aruba, animal adventure about kindness, accepting our differences, giving others a chance and opening your heart to the possibilities of new friendships.
