Paperback. Hailed by many astrologers as a classic, this book not only maps our strengths and weaknesses, but also reveals the true purpose of astrology: to guide us toward our own self-realization. Books on the sun signs rarely emphasize self-help. What most of them say is, "This is the nature you were born with. Enjoy it, or learn to live with it." By contrast, this book tells the reader, "Here are things you can do to improve the nature you were born with." Swami Kriyananda's studies embrace Indian as well as Western astrology. He shows how extraordinarily sophisticated this ancient science is in its careful delineation of twelve basic categories of human nature. Your Sun Sign as A Spiritual Guide, however, goes far beyond merely intellectual discussion. Fresh, humorous, and full of wisdom, it provides a wealth of original insight in a field burdened by the thoughtless repetition of carelessly worked-out theories. The specific lessons of each sun sign are described with clarity and relevance and a particular meditation practice is suggested for each. All the ancient teachings stress the importance, to any true understanding of the astrological science, of the faculty of intuition. The convincing insights Kriyananda offers into human nature are born of forty years of meditative practice, as well as of a lifetime of experience in counseling others. It is, above all, his intuitive grasp of his subject that gives this book its unique flavor. Hailed as a modern classic by working astrologers, here are specific lessons for work in with each sun sign of the zodiac. Includes meditation practices.
