In a world where magic is the privilege of the elite, three young outcasts-Keeree, Phyre, and Daraya-find themselves rejected by the prestigious Academy of Magic, their dreams of wielding power seemingly shattered. Keeree, a farm girl from the windswept plains, discovers her raw, untamed magic is far greater than she ever imagined, a secret tied to a family legacy buried beneath generations of toil. Phyre, a charismatic scion of a wealthy wizarding dynasty, carries the weight of his family's expectations, only to be cast aside when his unorthodox talents fail to meet the Academy's rigid standards.
Daraya, sharp-tongued and fiercely independent, hails from a middle-class wizarding clan but hides her vulnerabilities behind a standoffish exterior, her rejection fueling a fire of defiance. Bound by their shared exclusion, these unlikely allies uncover a chilling truth: the Academy and its ruling elite are hoarding magic, draining the world's mystical essence to secure their dominance.
As the spark of rebellion ignites within them, Keeree, Phyre, and Daraya must navigate a treacherous path through a wizarding society that views them as threats. From shadowy back alleys to forbidden archives, their journey reveals ancient secrets and dangerous forces that could either unlock their true potential or destroy them.
With the fate of magic itself hanging in the balance, can this trio of misfits overcome their differences and stand against the rulers of the wizarding world? Or will Keeree's newfound power be snuffed out, condemning her to a life as a "damp wick"-a mundane, forever cut off from the magic that pulses through her veins?
In this thrilling tale of courage, friendship, and defiance, the battle for magic's future rests in the hands of those the world deemed unworthy.
