About the Authors:
S. R. Driver (1846-1914) was Fellow of New College until his appointment as Regius Professor of Hebrew and Canon of Christ Church in 1893. A founding Fellow of the British Academy, Driver is known for his various Biblical commentaries and his substantial work in Hebrew and is generally considered the greatest British Old Testament scholar of his time.
Adolf Neubauer (1832-1907) was a Sub-librarian at the Bodleian Library, Oxford University. Among his other publications are 'The Fifty-third Chapter of Isaiah according to the Jewish Interpreters, ' 'Mediaeval Jewish Chronicles and Chronological Notes, ' 'La Geographie du Talmud, ' and 'Catalogue of the Hebrew Manuscripts in the Bodleian Library and in the College Libraries of Oxford.'
