In Succession, the second high-stakes installment of the Jack Connolly Thriller Series, author M. Charles McBee weaves a web of political intrigue and "Deep State" conspiracy.
The Plot: A Nation on the Brink
On the 50th anniversary of the JFK assassination, history repeats itself when the President of the United States is assassinated in Dallas, Texas. In the chaotic aftermath, a ruthless conspiracy unfolds to alter the federal government's leadership.
- The Identity Swap: While Vice President Melissa Callen is drugged and left with temporary amnesia, her "wicked" identical twin sister, Linda, is sworn into office as part of a plot orchestrated by a ruthless Chief of Staff and Iranian terrorists.
- The Race to DC: Assistant Director of the Secret Service Jack Connolly must protect the true Vice President. He teams up with Dr. Andres Devendorf to transport Melissa secretly from Dallas to Washington, D.C. while being hunted by professional assassins.
- The Final Test: The journey takes them through South Carolina and Virginia, leading to a startling revelation by Melissa’s mother that could restore the rightful order of succession.
- Genre: Political Thriller / Action Adventure.
- Themes: Identity theft, Deep State conspiracies, and high-level government corruption.
- Cast of Characters: Features returning hero Jack Connolly, the resourceful Melissa Callen, and a colorful supporting cast, including the humorous mental patient Julia, who inadvertently foils the assassins' plans.
