With the development of the global marketplace and a looming labor shortage in the United States, the need for corporations to ready themselves for future workforce and economic pressures is greater than ever. Succession development planning is essential for any organization intent on survival.
Professional executive coach Douglas E. Fenner, EdD, is a leading expert in the field of succession development planning—especially as it applies to today’s multigenerational workforce. In Succession Development Planning: A Strategy Used to Help Future-Proof Your Workforce, he brings his twenty-five years of experience to bear on these important issues.
Starting with a brief, engaging overview of the history of succession planning, Dr. Fenner moves on to the paradigm shifts executives must face in order to cope with the Fourth Industrial Revolution and the need for adaptive functional organization models. He provides solutions for managing and leading an increasingly diverse, multigenerational workforce and offers insights on how a global perspective can help corporations develop critical employee competencies.
Dr. Fenner’s workforce competency assessment tool provides executives an accurate view of employee skill-set deficiencies, and his mind-set transformation framework assists in devising an effective succession development plan.
Insightful and practical, Dr. Fenner’s advice helps future-proof workforces in today’s—and tomorrow’s—rapidly evolving marketplace.
