Provides a fascinating insight into fruit growing in the USA at the start of the 20th Century. As the preface notes, ‘plain, practical language descriptions of such varieties as are most in demand in our markets, and the methods practiced by the most successful cultivators of many sections of the country’ is given. Considers apples, pears, peach, apricot and nectarine, plums, the cherry, quince, mulberry, grapes and soft fruits.
