Studies in the Psychology of Sex: Sexual Inversion By Havelock Ellis Philadelphia: F. A. Davis Company, 1902 Second edition; title page dated 1902, copyright dated 1901 Condition: Very Good, ex-library An early American edition of Havelock Ellis’s pioneering study of same-sex sexuality, incorporating historical discussion, case histories, and contemporary medical and psychological interpretations. Originally developed with John Addington Symonds, Sexual Inversion was the first medical textbook in English devoted to the subject and holds an important place in the history of sexology and LGBTQ+ scholarship. Its approach challenged prevailing moral condemnation, although its terminology and theoretical framework reflect its period. Includes a preface to the second edition and the publisher’s statement identifying this as the only English-language edition published with the author’s permission. Title page dated 1902; copyright page dated 1901. Condition: Very Good, ex-library. Library marking on the spine and an unstamped library card pocket at the rear. No other library markings or signs of use noted. Rear cover is in the early stages of separating. Please review photos for details.…

Store description
I unearth paper treasures for your reading pleasure. I started selling books when my father left me his vintage paperback collection, almost 25 years ago. I grade condition conservatively and do my best to convey all flaws, and to respond quickly to questions. When issues arise, I do my best to come up with solutions that keep both parties happy. When I'm not panning for gold in thrift stores and estate sales, I'm listening to records, hanging out with my family, or playing tabletop games.
