Print on Demand. This book presents and examines the poetry of WW1 soldier-poets such as Rupert Brooke and Siegfried Sassoon. The author of this book gives an overview of their motivations and experiences, focusing on how they differ from previous war poets in history, such as Alfred, Lord Tennyson. The author also draws parallels between the works of these soldier-poets and the broader historical and literary context in which they were written, such as the Elizabethan era and Romanticism. While this book is written in an accessible style that will appeal to a wide audience, its nuanced observations will be of particular interest to academics and scholars. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. …
