Structuring Pastoral Compensation: A Practical Guide for Blessing Your Pastor by S.L. Potts is an essential resource for church leaders—elders, deacons, trustees, and committee members—who seek to honor their pastors through thoughtful and effective compensation planning. This 132-page guide offers practical insights into creating compensation packages that not only meet legal and financial standards but also reflect the value and dedication of pastoral leadership.
Potts addresses common challenges such as balancing church budgets with fair remuneration, understanding tax implications, and navigating benefits like housing allowances and retirement plans. The book emphasizes the importance of transparency, communication, and alignment with biblical principles in structuring compensation. By providing real-world examples and actionable steps, Potts empowers church leaders to make informed decisions that bless their pastors and foster healthy church dynamics.
