Almost 13 and a straight A student, Vinnie Scott expects to spend his summer vacation at East Wind School for Boys doing what he's always done-read, swim, and avoid conflicts with the other "inmates." When a woman's body is pulled from an abandoned well near the picnic area, complete with cops, yellow tape, and a nosy reporter, the excitement racing through the school provides the perfect cover for his escape. Or maybe that should be "escapade."

About the Author
The genesis for Strong Coffee came during my own road trip, somewhere in Kansas, a long time ago. the vintage car over which John obsesses came from seeing an old pink and black Cadillac sitting in someone's back yard. I never had the chance to ask the owner how it came to be there. so imagination took over, giving me a key player in Strong Coffee: a runaway road story.
