I Am Strong, Calm, and Courageous
15 Confidence Habits and Activities for Managing Emotions, Overcoming Fear, and Believing in Yourself
Help your child discover practical ways to build confidence, understand emotions, face fears, and develop greater belief in themselves.
I Am Strong, Calm, and Courageous is an encouraging and interactive guide designed to help children develop positive habits and practical skills for handling everyday emotional and personal challenges.
Children may sometimes feel worried about making mistakes, nervous about trying something new, frustrated when things do not go their way, or unsure about how to express what they are feeling. This book helps young readers explore simple strategies for understanding their emotions, responding to challenges, and developing a stronger sense of self-belief.
Through 15 confidence-building habits and activities, children will be encouraged to:
• Understand and identify their emotions
• Practice healthy ways to manage strong feelings
• Build self-esteem and recognize their personal strengths
• Face fears and uncomfortable situations with courage
• Develop confidence when trying new things
• Replace negative self-talk with encouraging and realistic thoughts
• Learn from mistakes and setbacks
• Develop resilience when challenges arise
• Practice calming and mindful habits
• Speak up and express thoughts and feelings respectfully
• Make thoughtful choices during difficult situations
• Set small goals and celebrate progress
• Develop patience and persistence
• Ask for help when they need it
• Believe in their ability to learn, improve, and grow
The activities are designed to make learning about confidence and emotional strength engaging and practical. Children can explore the concepts at their own pace while parents, caregivers, teachers, and educators can use the book as a starting point for meaningful conversations and supportive activities.
The goal is not to teach children that they should never feel afraid, worried, angry, or frustrated. Instead, it encourages them to understand that difficult emotions are a normal part of life and that they can learn constructive ways to respond to them.
Confidence grows through practice. By learning to recognize their feelings, face challenges, learn from mistakes, and take small courageous steps, children can begin developing habits that support greater self-belief and emotional resilience.
Give your child an encouraging collection of habits and activities designed to help them become stronger, calmer, and more courageous—one small step at a time.
