Have you ever hit "Start Streaming" and then spent the next twenty minutes wondering why your audio sounds like it's coming from inside a tin can, or why your beautifully composed scene looks nothing like what you pictured in your head?
If that sounds familiar, you're not alone, and you're definitely not doing anything wrong. Live production software gives you an enormous amount of control, and that's exactly the problem. Nobody hands you a manual for turning that control into something that actually looks and sounds professional. Most people just click around, copy a setting they saw in a random video, and hope for the best.
This book was written for the moment right after that. The moment you realise you want to understand what you're actually doing, not just repeat steps you don't fully understand.
Inside, you'll walk through the entire live production process from the ground up. You'll learn how video, audio, and network signals actually move through your setup, so that when something goes wrong, you'll know exactly where to look instead of guessing. You'll learn how to build scenes that guide a viewer's eye naturally, rather than throwing everything onto the screen at once and hoping it works. You'll get a proper, practical breakdown of microphones, gain staging, and the filters that turn an average voice into one that sounds like it belongs on a real broadcast.
Curious about automation? There's a full walkthrough of scripting and triggers, so your broadcast can handle repetitive tasks on its own while you focus on your actual content. Wondering how to keep your stream from falling apart the moment your internet has a bad five minutes? You'll find a complete section on bitrate, encoding, and network stability, explained in plain language rather than technical jargon that assumes you already know everything.
This book also spends real time on the things most guides skip entirely. How do you build a visual identity that people actually remember? How do you structure a broadcast so viewers stay past the first minute instead of clicking away? What does a genuinely reliable, professional setup look like when something inevitably goes wrong mid broadcast, and how do you recover without losing your audience's trust?
Whether you're just starting out and feel a little overwhelmed by all the settings in front of you, or you've been producing content for a while and want to tighten up your technical foundation, this book meets you where you are. It's written the way a patient, experienced colleague would explain things, someone who's clearly made every mistake already so you don't have to.
By the end, you won't just know which buttons to press. You'll understand why you're pressing them, and that's the difference between a setup that works today and one that keeps working, session after session, for years to come.
If you're ready to stop guessing and start actually understanding your production setup, this book is exactly where to begin.

Store description
**Please note our transit times are from the date of dispatch.** We first started out as “The Paperback Exchange,” a chain of physical bookstores where we would part exchange your beloved books for new stories to transport you to faraway places. However, as shopping started to evolve to online shops and marketplaces, we bid our stores goodbye to become “PBShop.” This transition has only allowed us to blossom as we now ship thousands of titles to book lovers across the globe. We pride ourselves in being a community of local book lovers which allows our passion and devotion to shine in everything we do. In 2020 we not only celebrated our 20th birthday but our 1st birthday as being completely employee owned after becoming an E.O.T in September 2019. We are proud to be different and embrace standing apart on a book mountain by working from a virtual inventory which allows us to provide thousands of books that may be difficult to get for your bookshelf or your studies. Working with a number of different suppliers allows us to explore other avenues such as puzzles, sheet music and even stationery so we really do have something for everyone. Life is about being versatile in all realms of existence. If this is your first purchase with us, or you are a returning customer, we would like to welcome you to the PBShop family, for there is no friend as loyal as a book. We are a company who put our customers at the centre of everything we do as we understand the importance of reading because once you learn to read, you will forever be free. There are a whole lot of things in this world of ours that we are yet to explore, which is why we will forever inspire curious minds.…
