Neuware - 'Strath-clutha' delves into the history of the ancient kingdom of Strathclyde, a Brittonic realm in what is now Scotland and Northern England. John M. Leighton chronicles the rise and fall of this kingdom, exploring its cultural, political, and military significance during the early medieval period. From its origins in the post-Roman era to its eventual incorporation into the Kingdom of Scotland, the book examines the key figures, events, and societal structures that defined Strathclyde. Readers will gain insights into the interactions between the Britons of Strathclyde and their neighbors, including the Scots, Picts, and Anglo-Saxons. Leighton sheds light on the kingdom's role in shaping the cultural landscape of early Britain and its lasting legacy in the region.
