Turn AI ambition into a strategy your organization can execute.
AI can improve productivity, transform customer experiences, and create new products. Capturing that value requires clear priorities, the right operating model, disciplined investment, and responsible governance.
AI Strategy: From Opportunity to Operating Model provides a practical playbook for connecting AI capabilities to measurable business outcomes. Written by Dr. Sanjay Nakharu Prasad Kumar, this book helps leaders move from promising experiments to a coordinated approach for building, governing, and scaling AI.
At its core is the Six-Lens AI Strategy System, which connects transformation, opportunity discovery, operating-model design, investment, value capture, and lifecycle governance. These six lenses help readers assess both what AI could do and what their organization must change to make it work.
Across 60 chapters, you will learn how to:
-
Choose between task augmentation, workflow redesign, and AI-native products.
-
Discover and prioritize opportunities across customer experience, employee productivity, operations, revenue growth, and risk.
-
Build an AI portfolio using value, feasibility, data readiness, and risk.
-
Define team structures, decision rights, accountability, and human oversight.
-
Make informed choices about models, platforms, enterprise knowledge, RAG, and agentic systems.
-
Connect evaluation, observability, guardrails, and incident response to responsible deployment.
-
Assess AI unit economics, adoption, benefits realization, and platform reuse.
-
Translate strategy into roadmaps, metrics, executive reviews, and a 12-month transformation blueprint.
The book combines structured explanations, illustrative cases, and practical playbooks. Twelve appendices provide reusable tools, including an AI Strategy Canvas, opportunity radar, use-case scoring model, operating-model design sheet, evaluation scorecard, risk register, and AI product PRD.
Designed for executives, product managers, technology leaders, consultants, and transformation practitioners, this guide supports the decisions that determine whether AI becomes a useful experiment or a lasting business capability.
Build a clear AI strategy. Create the operating model to deliver it. Measure the value as you scale.
