Chapter One

"There are times concerning matters of the heart, When we must be proactive. Then there are times when we must simply wait. Wisdom is the ability to differentiate when to do which." Kimberly Washington

IF ...

If I were to tell you I still love you What would you say? Would you feel the same? Or would you walk away?

If I were to tell you I still love you Would you embrace me in your arms? Would you honor and cherish me And do me no harm?

If I were to tell you I still love you Would the walls finally come down? Would you be honest with me and share The things that have kept you bound?

If I were to tell you I still love you Would you stop playing the game? Would things finally be different? Or will they remain the same?

If I were to tell you that every since I found you You are always on my mind. Would it be an epiphany to you? Or just a waste of my time?

If I were to tell you I still love you Would you allow me to use the key? That would unlock every door And allow you to be free?

Well I am telling you I still love you Without reason or rhyme If you give your heart to me It will be the greatest love you'll ever find.

Free

What do you want from me? I thought you wanted to be free. That you didn't want anything to do with me. I tried to throw my feelings in to the depths of the sea So that you could truly be free of me.

"Let me spoon feed you with affection Help give your life a new direction. Are you willing to allow me to lead, And give you everything your heart and soul needs? Kimberly Washington"

Do I?

Do I look like anyone that you know? Do I look like you from my head to my toes? In to me do you really wish to see? So that you can know how sweet it is to be, loved by me. Did you ever find out who I truly am? Like the little boy that took his finger out of the dam. Will my love overwhelm you or do you harm? Just one dose will make your heart warm. It will destroy all the barriers and break every chain. It will sweep away the cobwebs and bring much needed rain. It will restore your soul and ease the pain, Just like a dose of Novocain. Open wide and allow me to come inside. Your feelings you need to longer hide. That fear that you had all wrapped up in pride ... Just open up and let me come inside.

Treasure

Women that come for you are a dime a dozen. Many are chasing you to be their husband. But chase you baby, I will not. Because I am the treasure that you have sought. The chest full of silver and of gold, Of amethysts, diamonds and treasures untold.

As a pirate you have sailed the seven seas, And not found a treasure as prized as me. So what will you do with your new found riches? Will you hide it and bury it away in ditches? Or will you adorn yourself with it as a prized possession? Nourish it and love it and show it much affection? Is it everything that you have desired it to be? Is it love everlasting, rooted and grounded as the three?

How Well

When you asked me how well I know you I was at a loss for words. I didn't know how to explain what I was feeling. There was no logical explanation for it whatsoever. I know you so well, yet I don't know you at all. You touched me and connected to the very depths of my soul ... Yet you have not laid a hand on me. I find it very hard to understand, And even more difficult to explain. I have been sent to love you past your pain ... Not to factor in your proclivities, shortcomings or pitfalls But to love you inclusive of it all. If I were in my right mind, I would say that I'm a fool. I am succumbing to my heart and breaking every rule. I rarely allow my heart to lead, But this thing has really got a hold on me.

You Don't Want Me?

I know why you don't want me. Is it because I'm not your type? I'm not light skinned, nor tall, No bells, whistles or hype. Through your eyes, I may not have the glamour face Or green, or hazel eyes, but you were also not my taste. I have been used to my man being a certain way ... But I'm tired of the game and no longer want to play. Real love chooses what it needs instead of what it wants It chooses to love anyway without a proper response.

When you get what you want It does not fulfill what you need. When you continuously feed what you want It turns to greed. An appetite that is insatiable at best Get what you need so your soul can rest.

"Let my love come in and wash you clean. Yes this is for real and it is not a dream. Things aren't always what they seem. You need a real woman on your team." Kimberly Washington

Wounded

You don't realize that you and I have many things in common. We are both looking for the same thing ... Someone to love us just for who we are And not for what we can do for them. All I wanted from you was your heart. I wanted to help you feel ... To be the bandage that covers your wounds until they heal. Then to continue as the bandage that covers your scars. To help you get free from behind the bars. I have never cared about your name, your fame or your game ... Only your heart and setting you free.

If Only You Knew

You couldn't know, you couldn't have a clue, As to how deeply I feel for you. I really don't think that you understand, As to how much I want you to be my man. I tried to tell you, but you answered me with a question, So I had to reply with a strong suggestion. I had to cover up and pretend that you didn't know, In which direction I was really trying to go. I was naked before you and somewhat ashamed, But when you didn't respond, I had to regain ... my composure. I couldn't believe that I dangled my heart on a string. I thought that you and I had a love thing. Something so deep, That words not seep ... through our lips. A mutual understanding, Not wanting to be demanding.

But I know that you can feel it, I can see it in your eyes. Why must we keep up with this disguise? Why must we play the game? Is it because your appetite you have yet to tame? I know who I am, I am the real one. Not the one to use to have a little fun. If I gave you my heart, Would it only be the start? Of heartache and pain? That is why I must continue to restrain My true feelings for you. You can't handle this boo. At this point in time what am I to do? There are several women already in your bed, And many that think that it is you that they should wed. You need another lover like you need a hole in your head.

Where others may desire just a piece of you I look at your heart, could it really be true? To only one woman that God has chosen for you? Can you put away the toys in exchange for the prize?

Or would she be looked over and tossed to the side? When she walks into your life, will you truly be drawn? Or will you try to use her as a pawn ... in this game you call life. Would it cut like a knife? To finally be able to do what is right? Not to have many lovers, but only one wife. For it is the Word, It may seem absurd ... I am sure that you are enjoying being free as a bird. But is it truly freedom, or is it a snare? Are you playing in the enemy's camp, is it truth or dare? The devil plays for keeps, And in his game what you sow is what you reap.

I wish you only knew what I've been going through, For my heart has been tried, tested and is true. I want to get close to you ... Open up to me, show me your heart, All I want is to be a part. Have you looked in my eyes and seen the depths of my soul, The love I have for you is hard to control. It's as if it has a mind of its own. It cuts down to the marrow of the bone....

I Am Beautiful

I am beautiful, From my head to my toes. I am beautiful all over, Don't you know?

I am beautiful From the inside out I am a rare and precious jewel Of that there is no doubt.

I am beautiful In any shape, size or form A woman to be loved, respected, treasured and adorned.

I am beautiful Because God says that I am I am beautiful With or without the validation of man.

I am beautiful Because I am fearfully and wonderfully made, The type of beauty that I possess, It will never cease to amaze. I become more beautiful through the years, I become more beautiful through the tears. I become more beautiful because I was scorned I become more beautiful because I have mourned

I've become more beautiful because I was low I've become more beautiful not maintaining status quo I've become more beautiful because I was abused I've become more beautiful because I've been used

I am beautiful When I was created, God broke the mold. I am beautiful Not a commodity to be bought or to be sold.

I am beautiful Virtuous in nature and pure in heart. I am an exceptional, exquisite and masterful work of art. I am beautiful

Just take a good look at me Look through my eyes And tell me what do you see?

Cast Down, But Not Destroyed

Did it bother you? Did you even care? When you broke my heart And my soul you did not spare. You cut me with your words and left me for dead After I opened my heart to you, you banished me and fled.

You didn't check to see if I was bleeding or breathing. Maybe you would have been kinder to a whore or a heathen. You asked me to leave but I never tried to hurt you. I was only keeping my promise to love and preserve you.

I have tried to forget you, but I can not. For, you are the man that my soul has sought. Regardless of how much I have fought for it not to be so, This is the thing that I need you to know ...
