From the Publisher
Chapters are arranged to follow the writing process, from generating ideas to rewriting and selling your work.
Presents a plan for developing characters with emotional depth and psychological dimension. Unique to this book.
Analyzes the basic building blocks used in motion pictures (the bit, the scene, the sequence, the act).
Includes a detailed discussion of scene dynamics.
Points are amply illustrated by examples from popular films. Four films have been chosen for in-depth study, making it easier for the instructor to work with four produced scripts and videos in class - Sleepless in Seattle; The Verdict; Witness; and The Terminator.
Each chapter includes a summary and exercises, along with suggestions from film excerpts and other media that illustrate the points presented in the chapter.
