For the first time ever, the Avon edition of The Phantom is back in print! Hermes Press is proud to announce that they will be publishing all fifteen pocket Avon books! This exciting installment, Volume 12 offers the classic Lee Falk tale: “The Vampires and the Witch!”
Famed artist George Wilson (Dr. Solar, Magnus Robot Fighter, The Phantom) painted the cover for Volume #12 as he did with all of the covers used for the Avon series, and they are reproduced beautifully to keep all of the details from the original books intact for a new generation of Phans to enjoy!
A plague of human vampires – a 300-year-old witch who, legends says, can only be freed from her chains and returned to youth and beauty by a PHANTOM kiss.
Incredible in the twentieth century?
Yet a tiny nation is terrorized by these ghastly beings who inhabit a medieval torture change beneath an ancient castle ruin.
Follow the PHANTOM through a chilling web of superstition, fear, and deadly danger.

About the Author
Lee Falk, born Leon Harrison Gross, was an American cartoonist, writer, theater director, and producer, best known as the creator of the comic strips Mandrake the Magician and The Phantom. At the height of their popularity, these strips attracted over 100 million readers every day.
George Wilson was a prolific comic book cover illustrator. He is known for his realistic style using oils and acrylics. Wilson worked for Western Publishing, doing the covers for a number of their titles, including over forty issues of "Space Family Robinson", more than thirty issues of Star Trek, and a few covers of The Phantom, and Mighty Samsom. The other company he created numerous comic book covers for was Dell Comics for their Tarzan and Combat releases. Starting out as commercial illustrator after the war he worked for advertisement agencies and publishers such as Dell Publications, Bombay Boomerang, Jove, Avon, and Harlequin Books. It was at Dell that Wilson found his calling as comic book cover illustrator in 1955.
