Initially part of Edward Watkin's grandiose plan to join Manchester & Paris by rail. On his death the partners could not agree but, after a terrible crash at Aylesbury in 1904,they formed the Met & Gc Joint Rly. Even today the line between Harrow & Aylesbury is shared between LUL and Chiltern Railways. A5 format 164 pages 130 photos inc.7 colour.
