"Fortieth Thousand". Hardcover; no dustjacket. Fair condition only. Light surface rubbing, and some wear at the spine extremities. A couple of small spots on the rear board. The sun is sun-lightened, and has some ink-marks; but the gilt spine lettering is still readable. The rear hinge is split, and the front hinge is completely open. Two of the illustrations are detached, and these two are edgeworn. Previous owners name on the front flyleaf. Page edges and endpapers are somewhat age-darkened.
