A collection of anecdotes and learning points from nearly 100 GPs. This book is intended for GP registrars as well as established GPs, and we feel its content would be an excellent source of material for discussion during tutorials.
The book would also be of interest to those in all medical disciplines.
‘What would be handy would be the accumulated wisdom of our profession in tablet form: potent, evidence-based, conveniently packaged and easy to swallow. You need look no further than this book.’
Roger Neighbour OBE, Past President RCGP
‘Put simply - this is a brilliant book.’
Ciaran Conway. Review, June 2018, BJGP
‘Stories bring actual practice to life. They help us deal with patients in a more holistic way, and help us to share our experiences in a way that would otherwise be impossible.’
One of the many favourable comments from a group of GP Registrars who assessed the book.
‘This is a book like no other. It is packed with wisdom: each nugget derived from an anecdote. Perfect evening reading after an exhausting day at work. I wish it had been around when I was a GP registrar all those years ago.’
Iona Heath CBE, Past President RCGP
‘This book illustrates the power of reflection to help doctors grow and be better doctors for the benefit of patients.’
Martin Wilkinson, Director Postgraduate GP Education, West Midlands, Chair English GP Deans.
‘The book works on many levels: as a compendium of experience and wisdom; as a two dimensional role model; as a source of reassurance; and as an historical record.’
John Howard, Head of Education and Quality for Primary and Community Care, Postgraduate GP Dean and Deputy Postgraduate Dean, Health Education England - East of England Office.
