FIRST EDITION / SIGNED. 4to., 152 p., ill. White cloth boards w/ blind-stamped lettering to front board. Spine has red cloth background w/ silver lettering. Some minor foxing to edges of boards, otherwise fine. Top edge green. Corners and binding are tight. Decorated endpapers w/ "The Store" emblems replicated. Oldenburg's "The Store" business card in glassine envelope pasted to ffep. SIGNED by Oldenburg to title page in his characteristic scrawl. All pages very clean and unmarked. Color and black & white photography by Robert R. McElroy. Dust jacket is slightly rubbed w/ edgewear, but no rips or tears. Store Days is a selection by the artist, Claes Oldenburg, with the aid of Emmett Williams, of texts, graphic materials, and photos from 1961-1962. Store Description: I, the Andalusia Bookman, have a stock of over 100,000 covering a wide range of items specializing in 19th and 18th c. illustrated books, chromolithos, Philadelphiana, rare anthropology, early hermeneutics, Natural history, first editions and signed items, Beat lit, '60's material, unusual occult, erotica and esoterica. This is my personal collection from which I am de-accessing most everything, including a vast amount of ephemera, art work (steel engravings, pouchoir, collotype), movie posters (of the 1940's - 50's) and a mass of important 19th c. bound periodicals (Oology to Archeology, Mathematics, Botany, Knitting), and 20th c. Art journals, Italian Fascist publications, etc., culled from Walter J. Johnson's liquidation, as well as a collection rare jazz records, including 100's of Boogie Woogie and BeBop '78s, And much more, just ask.
