About the Author
Dr. Marylou Wellington is a sociologist, clinical psychologist, psychoanalyst, educator, researcher, corporate wellness speaker, health journalist, marriage and family therapist, and expert in post-traumatic stress disorder and emergency management. She is one of the world's most important experts on mental health, wellness and stress management. She became the first woman member in the history of The Academy of Civil Protection for Geography and Statistics (one of the oldest academic societies in the world, opened in 1833), and has worked extensively with large groups, especially after natural disasters. She has taught emergency management and crisis management at the college level for over two decades and has worked with federal governments as the leader of the natural disaster task force, helping people deal with post-traumatic stress disorder and other types of mental anguishes during, before, and after natural disasters.
