About the Authors
Pari Zare Azirani Barbour professional roots lie in the realm of Environmental Engineering, where she devoted her early career to promoting energy efficiency in buildings and tackling climate change. Her scientific mind-trained in mathematics, physics, and engineering-served her well in the corporate world, where she managed teams and bore full responsibility at an executive level.Yet beneath the precision and structure of environmental systems, Pari began sensing a deeper, more human energy at play. This quiet curiosity led her to study ancient Eastern philosophies, including the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita and Buddha, where she discovered the transformative power of self-reflection and body awareness. From learning about chakras and healing symbols to exploring crystals and their radiant energies, she found herself drawn into a world that both complemented and contrasted her scientific life.Her wellness journey deepened when she introduced lunchtime yoga sessions to her company, bringing balance, vitality, and unity to her workplace. Inspired by Deepak Chopra's The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success, she infused her leadership approach with holistic values, even when faced with criticism. The results were undeniable: happier teams and one of the most successful years in her organization.Driven by an unshakable thirst for knowledge, Pari pursued a Kinesiology Practitioner Training, Yoga Teacher Training, became an Ayurveda Practitioner, and later began studies towards Doctor of Ayurveda. Her quest for harmony and healing has taken her across continents-from Iran to India, Canada to Australia-engaging with herbalists, healers, and spiritual seekers in immersive conversations and practices. She also explored Bach Flower Remedies, and her love of plant-based healing has blossomed into an expansive, heartfelt expertise.Stop the Spiral is a reflection of this multifaceted journey: from science to soul, from structure to surrender. Dr. Supriya Vivek Singh, M.S. (Ayu.), PGDCR, PhD Scholar, is an Ayurveda surgeon, researcher, educator, and academician with extensive experience in clinical practice, medical education, and scientific research. She obtained her B.A.M.S., M.S. (Shalya Tantra) from the prestigious R.A. Podar Ayurved Medical College, Mumbai. She is currently pursuing her PhD in Shalya Tantra at the Institute of Teaching and Research in Ayurveda (ITRA), Jamnagar which is also an Institute of national Importance.Dr. Singh has served in various clinical, research, and academic positions, including Senior Research Fellow at CCRAS, Registrar and Research Assistant at BYL Nair Hospital, Mumbai. Her work spans Ayurvedic clinical practice, evidence-based research, pharmacovigilance, and medical education.She has presented scientific papers at national and international conferences, including the World Ayurveda Congress, and has published research articles in peer-reviewed journals. Her areas of interest include Shalya Tantra, clinical research, wound healing, metabolic disorders, integrative healthcare, and advancement of evidence-based Ayurveda. She holds an extensive clinical experience in urological, digestive and lifestyle disorders especially DM and its complications.As an editor, Dr. Singh brings a strong academic foundation, research expertise, and commitment to scholarly excellence, ensuring the dissemination of authentic, clinically relevant, and scientifically sound Ayurvedic knowledge to students, practitioners, and researchers worldwide.
Dr. Vivek Singh, BAMS, MD, PGDCR, PhD Scholar, is an Ayurveda physician, educator, researcher, and author with over 12 years of clinical, academic, and research experience. He completed his BAMS and MD from the prestigious R.A. Podar Medical College (Ayurved), Mumbai, and is currently pursuing his PhD from Tilak Ayurved Mahavidyalaya, Pune. He also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Research and Pharmacovigilance.
