Item description from seller

Loosely printed sheets gathered into folds, photographically illustrated wrap-around cover to contain the whole, with ample tissue guards around everything, contained in a blue cloth prtfolio cover with printed title in gold, author's name, all housed in a printed and illustrated cardboard slipcase. Contains 16 copper plate engravings, each signed "Lenore" and marked "Artist's Proof" with tissue guards, two other hand-printed illustrations within the text (hand-set type by the artist/author and one more handprinted illustration on the paper cover which is also signed-in-full by the artist. A spectacular publication of this sculptress' etched work and poetry. The entire run of this edition (which precedes the 1970 edition, which was limited to 600 copies) was hand-printed on a 12x18 Chandler and Price platen press, treadle and power. Printed on J. Perrigot Arches Special MBM Paper, the entire production crafted by the sculptress, with the exception of the box. Exquisitely done. "Issued in a portfolio in a case./ "Sixteen copper-plate engravings were printed intaglio."/ "This edition is limited to fifty copies, numbered and signed, plus about ten signed copies marked Artist's Proof, which are not for sale." What is unique about this offering is that there is an additional, slightly different, Artist's Proof (with all the etchings marked as such), as well as a third printing variant and then a fourth mock-up copy. A rare opportunity to see the creative process of an Artist's Book through to it's final edition. More information available upon request. Soiling to cardboard case, some very faint spotting to front and rear cover of portfolio; contents are Fine 1 of appx. 10 (in addition to 50 signed and numbered).…
