Synopsis:
In his second volume of colour photographs from the 1950s and 60s, Keith Pirt presents shots of over 90 working engines from the London Midland and Eastern Region, including some Scottish routes. In his succinct captions, Pirt identifies the locomotives - among them BR Standard, Duchess, Royal Scot and Gresley engines - and gives details of their routes, sheds and often their fates, for many of these photographs were taken in the final months before withdrawal.
