Help Your Child Master Big Emotions, Overcome Impulsivity, and Find Their Calm with This Heartwarming Mindfulness Adventure!
Is your child a bundle of boundless energy whose mind sometimes feels like it is running on rocket fuel? Do they struggle with focus, racing thoughts, or pausing before they act?
Step into the magical world of Whispering Woods, where lovable characters, gentle wisdom, and practical mindfulness tools come together to help young readers navigate big feelings, ADHD traits, and everyday challenges.
Meet the Friends of Whispering Woods:Maxwell "Max" the Moose: Eleven years old, endlessly adventurous, and powered by a fast-moving, creative ADHD mind. Max loves big ideas, but he often leaps before he looks—landing himself right in the middle of trouble!
Sylvester "Syl" the Sasquatch: The wisest, calmest being in the forest. Standing eight feet tall, Syl teaches ancient Stoic wisdom: we cannot always control what happens, but we can always choose how we respond.
Oscar the Otter: Max’s careful, loyal, and wonderfully organized best friend, whose patience is an unshakeable anchor.
Briar the Bear: A golden-brown grizzly with a permanent scowl and a secret warm heart who always shows up when it counts.
Riley the Raven: Syl’s sharp-eyed companion who sees the big picture from above and helps guide the group through every storm.
Across six beautifully crafted stories, Max finds himself in hilarious and sticky situations—from runaway berry avalanches to treacherous muddy bogs. With the gentle guidance of Syl and his forest friends, Max doesn't learn to change who he is; instead, he learns how to master his own incredible spark.
Every story introduces a child-friendly, actionable emotional regulation tool that young readers can use in real life:
The Three-Breath Brake: Freeze like a statue and take three deep breaths to press pause on an impulsive "GO!" feeling.
The Square Woods Breath: A simple tracing exercise to slow down a racing heart and restore calm.
Riley’s Rhythm: Using a steady beat to anchor the mind when panic or overwhelm feels too loud.
Empowering for ADHD & Neurodivergent Readers: Normalizes fast-moving minds, impulsivity, and emotional big waves without shame or judgment.
Practical Mindfulness & Stoicism Made Easy: Translates ancient philosophy into fun, relatable woodland adventures that kids can easily understand and apply.
Social-Emotional Learning (SEL): Teaches self-awareness, emotional control, problem-solving, and the value of true friendship.
Engaging Read-Aloud Experience: Perfect for bedtime stories, classroom storytime, or independent reading for middle-grade children.
Whether your child struggles with hyperactivity, anxiety, or simply learning how to hit the brakes before acting, Whispering Woods: Max and Syl’s Toolbox offers a safe, comforting space to breathe, grow, and find their calm.
