Born of a dream and deep longing for an end to violence against women, Steady. Against the Absurd. Kinship at the Core, is a richly lyrical poem of place, our earth, and a poem of deep witness, suffused with sorrow, beauty, and tenderness, brought to us by a woman of two worlds whose deep insights and voice sing as she invites us into a place for peace. The original poem is accompanied by a fine translation, Sans rel che. Contre l'absurde. Corps et me, which allows the quiet but deep sense of kinship to reverberate fully from Taylor's initial English-speaking culture to her adopted French-speaking culture.
